Glamorous trackside fashion red all over

The Sunday Times - - CONFIDENTIAL -

JESSICA Gomes says opulence and glamour will be first past the post when it comes to spring racing style.

The West Australian model, who will be a special guest of the store on Caulfield Cup day, says many of this season’s styles can be easily translated for trackside glamour.

“I’m loving the new romantic trend for this spring carnival,” she said. “The dresses are feminine with high collars, frills and intricate lace — it feels very fitting for a day on the track. Bright red and pink will be stand-out colours for women this season — the redder, the better.”

In the millinery department, the David Jones ambassador embraces both minimal and bold designs.

“Metallic crowns will definitely be a favourite look this season but we will also see large-brim, ’50s-style hats make a return,” she said.

“I’m personally most excited about the new turban headband trend — wear it with voluminous waves for a statement look.”
