Winter throws shade at Housewives
USUALLY mild-mannered real estate expert Andrew Winter has unleashed on fellow Foxtel reality stars, the Real Housewives of Melbourne.
“Oh my god I can’t stand them,” he told Confidential.
Winter, who was in Perth to host the 11th season of Foxtel’s Selling Houses Australia last week, didn’t hold back when it came to bejewelled barrister Gina Liano.
“I can’t imagine anyone who would want to be on that show. I just think how could a barrister want to be,” he said. “An old barrister that releases perfume?”
The married father-of-three, who is based on the Gold Coast, said his daughter has a bottle of Liano’s self-titled fragrance which was gifted by Foxtel. “We use it to cover up the dog pong,” he said.
Liano, who will be in Perth tomorrow for a promotional visit with fellow cast member Lydia Schiavello, was contacted for comment.
English-born Winter said he’s lucky his property shows don’t attract much negativity from viewers, except when they call him a “pommy bastard”.
Winter also co-hosts Love It or List It Australia, in which he encourages homeowners to list their homes for sale rather than renovate.
But he doesn’t advise Perth homeowners to sell their homes, given the current state of the market.
“Really for you, you need to batten down the hatches rather than panic-selling,” he said.
Winter is surprised he is recognised by viewers in WA.
The first season of Love It or List It Australia airs on Foxtel’s Lifestyle channel on Wednesdays at 5.30pm West Australian time.
