Cyclist law too loose
I concur with Graham Smith of Eaton (Your Say, Nov 5).
Cyclists should also cop a $1000 fine if they don’t ride in single file, or “Indian file” as it used to be called. It was something drummed into us since primary school and was also on the back of our exercise books.
Trying to leave a 1m gap between cyclists and cars will be impossible when cyclists are two, three or four abreast. Some take up the entire lane. And they wonder why drivers get cranky.
Unless they have appropriate signs or an escort vehicle, they are not in a race. Some cyclists are their own worst enemy at times.
Yet another “rule” that’s not very well thought through. I can only wish the truckies the best of luck . ROB THOMPSON Beverley
