The Sunday Times - - YOUR SAY WA -

WA Water Minister Dave Kelly’s comments on people wasting water keeping “football field-sized lawns” green shows he is in need of a reality check (TST, Nov 5).

In my 70-plus years I have never seen a football field-sized backyard in WA, watered and green or not, and if Mr Kelly took the time to get around Perth he would see the thousands of homes in the suburbs built on postage stamp-sized blocks with almost no front and backyards.

Mr Kelly might do well to accept it is government policy that determines how many people get crammed into this country and therefore it is government’s job to ensure the water, power, roads and hospitals, etc, are in place for those millions of people. P EDWARDS Safety Bay
