AYOR Makur Chuot was just three when her father was killed in a hail of machinegun bullets in her family village in South Sudan.

The next year her mother walked for a year to reach a refugee camp in Kenya.

Now, 12 years after she arrived in Perth as a teenage refugee, Chuot is making the move from successful model to businesswoman.

The 28-year-old is set to open the doors of her agency, Ayor Model Management.

With 20 models already under her guidance, Chuot is excited to share her industry experience with some of Perth’s freshest faces. “It has always been my dream to manage and train aspiring models,” she said.

“I have come across so many potential models who could easily break into industry, but have not had the right support to excel.”

Chuot relocated to Perth in 2005. Four years later she signed with Scene Model Management and has walked in New York Fashion Week and appeared in Marie Claire,

Vogue and Elle. “The agency will be open to models of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds,” she said. Full story: See STM
