Just married — Italian style
PAYING homage to their Italian heritage, top Perth hairdresser Melissa Gesualdo married her long-time partner, property developer and investor Adam Zorzi, in an uber-stylish wedding in Puglia last weekend.
Family and friends from around the world flew in for the five-day extravaganza, with the large WA contingent including
Melissa and Jamie Karlson, Clover and Ben Tana, Sophia and Troy Barbagallo, ABC presenter Charlotte Hamlyn,
Joanna and Tony Millard, Garrett and Caitlin Prendiville, Adam’s brother luxury builder Adrian Zorzi and Mel’s sister Natasha Gesualdo of Balloon Co. Mel, who regularly tends to the tresses of models at New York Fashion Week and celebrities as a L’Oreal ambassador, was a breathtaking bride in J’Aton Couture.
The gown was a dress of dreams featuring glass beaded French lace and a plunging necklace embellished with strands of glass pearls and studded diamonds.
J’Aton designers Jacob Luppino and Anthony Pittorino said: “Melissa’s dress was inspired by the art deco era. As dramatic as the silhouette was, it was pared down and streamlined to complement Melissa’s petite frame.”
Adam opted for a dapper grey suit for the wedding ceremony at Ostuni Cathedral and a crisp white tux for the reception at Masseria San Domenico. Both suits were from the Tana family’s Parker and Co. Cinzia Bruschini, named the world’s top wedding photographer, captured all the day’s special moments including a fun flash mob rendition of Fatboy Slim’s Praise You.
With guests and the newlyweds posting under the hashtag #zorztrulli, images had Instagrammers drooling with envy. There was a hens party in Paris (think a long ladies lunch on the Seine and high tea at the Ritz), a bachelor party in London, a welcome dinner with traditional Italian dancing and hand-painted tambourines with personalised portraits of guests, and a flamboyant recovery beach party.
“The wedding was everything we had hoped for, with the focus just being to create great memories in an amazing location with our closest friends and family,” the couple told Confidential.
The Zorzis are now honeymooning in the sunshine in Sicily.
