Selfie link to vanity
EXCESSIVE use of social media, particularly posting selfies, has been linked to an increase in narcissism.
Researchers from the Swansea and Milan universities studied personality changes in 74 people aged 18-34 over four months while assessing their use of social media. Those who posted an “excessive” number of pictures of themselves displayed an average 25 per cent increase in narcissistic traits, taking many above the clinical cut-off for Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Narcissism can involve exhibitionism, beliefs about entitlement and tendencies to exploit others.
