Believe in your heart

I got married more than six years ago and for our honeymoon we went to Thailand, where we spent two weeks at the beach and one week in Bangkok.

We explored the city of Bangkok and did plenty of shopping, which Jess loved, but I started to get bored with this.

So instead I started eating snacks off the street stalls and discovered some delicious chicken.

But one day I ate chicken that didn’t taste as good or as fresh. I spent the next three days throwing up with the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had.

It turned everything nasty on the inside of my stomach and it forced its way to the outside each time I threw up.

I know this is disgusting but our hearts are often referred to as the inside of us as a person.

Proverbs 4:23 says, ‘‘Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it’’.

Everything we do, including what we say, decisions we make, how we relate to people, flows from the inside of our hearts.

There are so many ways to apply this to our lives.

Many people think Christianity is about how you live your life and the decisions you make on the outside, but how you live is only a result of what’s on the inside. Romans 10:9 says ‘‘If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved’’.

Christianity is about believing in Jesus Christ in your heart and knowing God on the inside.

When you know God on the inside it starts to flow out into your whole life. Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for every one of your sins so you could know the love and presence of God.

You can choose to know him today and trust him with your whole life.

God is always close by, He is always ready to accept you, love you and forgive you.

Take some time to talk to him today and if you want to know more about Jesus then ask someone who knows him.
