The Stroke-Monthly Medal round spon­sored by Drum­mond Golf was played in fine but cold con­di­tions.

Joyce Baird is find­ing more time to play golf lately and has quickly got on the win­ning list.

She won A-grade with 99-24-75 nett, on count­back from Pauline Moroney.

B-grade was won by Lyn Flett, scor­ing 103-31-72 nett. She also won the Monthly Medal with 72 nett.

Good to see Elaine Cow­ley back play­ing golf more regularly and be­ing re­warded with run­ner/up in B-grade for her 108-34-74 nett.

Ball win­ners: Terri Wange­man, Sue Pogue and Colleen Johns all on 76 nett.

The nine-hole com­pe­ti­tion was won by Heather Wildes with 38 1/2 nett.

Eight play­ers qual­i­fied to play in the pres­ti­gious Glad Rob­bins Sin­gles event. The quar­ter fi­nals are to be played on or be­fore Fri­day, June 26 — Elaine Cow­ley v Bett Miller, Colleen Johns v Lyn Fan­ning, Terri Wange­man v Jan Coe, Sue Pogue v Bev Roberts.

Satur­day golf: 4BBB Sta­ble­ford event spon­sored by Ross Kelly, with shot­gun start at noon.

Women and men will hit off at this time.
