The Greater Shep­par­ton City Coun­cil an­i­mal shel­ter has cats and kit­tens look­ing for lov­ing homes.

Res­i­dents have the op­por­tu­nity to visit the an­i­mal shel­ter to learn about the process and ben­e­fits of adopt­ing a shel­ter an­i­mal, as well as meet­ing the cats and kit­tens look­ing for a new for­ever home.

Greater Shep­par­ton City Coun­cil cit­i­zens ser­vices man­ager Lau­ri­enne Win­banks said it was im­por­tant to en­sure that the an­i­mals’ new home would be for­ever.

‘‘An­i­mal shel­ter staff fo­cus on match­ing the right an­i­mal with the right home,’’ Ms Win­banks said.

‘‘Ex­pe­ri­enced staff are avail­able to of­fer as­sis­tance and guid­ance to any­one in­ter­ested in adopt­ing a shel­ter pet.

‘‘Adopt­ing an an­i­mal from the Shep­par­ton an­i­mal shel­ter is a re­ward­ing ex­pe­ri­ence that will last a life­time.’’

The price to adopt a cat or kit­ten is $100.

All an­i­mals that are adopted from the Shep­par­ton an­i­mal shel­ter are vet checked, vac­ci­nated, mi­crochipped and de­sexed.

An­i­mals avail­able for adop­tion can be viewed by vis­it­ing the Shep­par­ton An­i­mal Shel­ter at 125 Wan­ganui Rd, Shep­par­ton, be­tween 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Mon­day to Fri­day.
