Be on alert for council phone scam

The Tatura Guardian - - News -

A spokesperson from Greater Shepparton City Council said it had been made aware of a potential phone scam operating in the municipality.

They said council had heard from a number of residents who had received a phone call saying they are from ‘‘marketing solutions’’ who are running a survey on behalf of Greater Shepparton City Council.

‘‘Residents are advised that if they receive a phone call similar to this it is not authorised by council and may be a scam,’’ the spokesperson said.

‘‘If residents receive this phone call they should contact the Shepparton Police Station on 5820 5777.’’
