The Satur­day pen­nant be­gins on Septem­ber 2 when there will be Di­vi­sion 4 and Di­vi­sion 7 sides.

The Tues­day pen­nant be­gins on Oc­to­ber 5 and Mer­rigum has a Di­vi­sion 4 team in this.

Sixty-and-over will be­gin on Septem­ber 21.

The new ex­ec­u­tive con­sists of chair­man John Firmer, deputy chair Joe Chant, sec­re­tary Mau­reen Shep­herd and trea­surer Pa­tri­cia Hub­ble.

The port­fo­lios for the di­rec­tors in­clude green­keeper Robert Dennis; grounds main­te­nance and 60-and-over John Bai­ley; se­lec­tion Joe Chant; match com­mit­tee Joe Chant and Robert Dennis; pub­lic­ity Joe and Lee Chant; bar Joe Chant and Robert Dennis; Tues­day pen­nant Lee Chant and Barry McMeeken; and Clive Bax­ter will fill in when re­quired.

Pat Hub­ble was nom­i­nated to fill the ca­sual va­cancy on the board for the next sea­son.

The 50th an­niver­sary will be celebrated with a din­ner on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 1.

There is cur­rently a ba­sic list of old mem­bers for the ‘Back To’ event but the club would wel­come any new names to add to the list.

There will be a game of bowls fol­low­ing din­ner.

The green is now open and mem­bers are wel­come to prac­tise at any time.

Fi­nally there will be an Open­ing Day on Sun­day, Septem­ber 3 at 1 pm; names to be in by 12.45 pm.

Uni­form is to be worn and it would be ap­pre­ci­ated if all play­ers could con­trib­ute to the af­ter­noon tea. There is no cost for this day. The next meet­ing is on Au­gust 31 at 4.15 pm.
