Aux­il­iary raises more than $500

More than $500 was raised at the re­cently held Tatura Fire Bri­gade Aux­il­iary soup and sand­wich lun­cheon.

Aux­il­iary sec­re­tary Gail Pollerd said there were al­most 70 peo­ple in at­ten­dance and they en­joyed three va­ri­eties of soup.

‘‘There was not as many peo­ple as usual due to some other things be­ing on,’’ Ms Pollerd said.

The aux­il­iary raises funds for the Tatura Fire Bri­gade and Ms Pollerd said every lit­tle bit helped to put to­ward the new sta­tion, which would be built in the next three to four years at the Tatura Race­course.

‘‘We’ll be hav­ing more fundrais­ers this year, so keep an eye out for what’s com­ing up,’’ she said.

Guests also en­joyed brows­ing through trad­ing ta­bles dur­ing the lun­cheon.
