The Tatura Ho­tel spon­sored Hill Top’s 4BBB stable­ford event, which saw the top eight pairs qual­ify for match play in the Edna Star­rit event.

Colleen Johns and Di Day won the day with 46 points, fol­lowed closely by Sh­eryl Cur­ran and Robyn Downs with 45 points.

The ball winners were Jan Coe and Sue Turn­bull with 42, and Lyn Fan­ning and Bev Roberts, Pat Serra and Wilma Saun­ders, and Judy Baker and Liz Mulc­ahy with 41.

Near­est the pins went to Robyn Downs on the third (Gallery Cafe´), Elaine Dunk on the sixth (Tatura Hot Bread), Deb Reilly on the ninth (Alofa Cafe´), and Bev Roberts on the 14th (One4One Cafe´).

The top eight pairs to play off for the Edna Star­rit tro­phy in­clude Colleen Johns and Di Day, Sh­eryl Cur­ran and Robyn Downs, Jan Coe and Sue Turn­bull, Pat Serra and Wilma Saun­ders, Lyn Fan­ning and Bev Roberts, Judy Baker and Liz Mulc­ahy, Josie De Ieso and Many McGrath and Bec Jef­fers and Tracy Lowry.

The quar­ter-fi­nal is to be played on or be­fore September 22.

Nine-hole event: Janet Leahy, who re­cently re­turned from hol­i­days, played well to win the event with 23 points. Roy­lyn Har­ris was run­ner-up with 17 points, while Lois Rogers won a ball with 16 points.

Ju­nior golf lessons will be held on Sun­day from 10.30 am to noon at a cost of $5 per child.

Chil­dren are to bring their own clubs if they have them. For fur­ther in­for­ma­tion con­tact ju­nior co-or­di­na­tor Elaine Dunk on 0402 607 760.

Ladies golf lessons will also be held on Sun­day from 1 pm to 2 pm. They are open to mem­bers and non-mem­bers at a cost of $5 per per­son, with pro­ceeds go­ing to women’s golf devel­op­ment. The lessons will be con­ducted by ex­pe­ri­enced Hill Top women golfers.

One-hour golf lessons are of­fered to begin­ners or mem­bers who would like a few tips to im­prove their golf.

Golf is a great way to ex­er­cise and so­cialise. Golf clubs are pro­vided, but bring your own if you have them.
