An­nual cut­ting horse event at Tatura Park

The South­ern Seven Cut­ting Horse As­so­ci­a­tion’s an­nual show was held over the week­end at Tatura Park, with be­tween $35 000 and $45 000 worth of prize money on of­fer.

‘‘This year was big­ger than last year,’’ SSCHA sec­re­tary Karen Phillips said. ‘‘We had about 260 en­tries . . . it was a great show, ev­ery­one loved it.’’

Phillips said the draw­card event was ded­i­cated to the mem­ory of long-time cut­ter, sup­porter and friend Deb El­liott.

‘‘There was a large num­ber of spec­ta­tors (dur­ing three days). All the stands were pretty much full,’’ she said.

An­other horse event — the 2017 Na­tional Cut­ting Horse Vic­to­rian Fu­tu­rity — will be­gin to­mor­rowat Tatura Park and fin­ish on Sun­day.
