Annual cutting horse event at Tatura Park
The Southern Seven Cutting Horse Association’s annual show was held over the weekend at Tatura Park, with between $35 000 and $45 000 worth of prize money on offer.
‘‘This year was bigger than last year,’’ SSCHA secretary Karen Phillips said. ‘‘We had about 260 entries . . . it was a great show, everyone loved it.’’
Phillips said the drawcard event was dedicated to the memory of long-time cutter, supporter and friend Deb Elliott.
‘‘There was a large number of spectators (during three days). All the stands were pretty much full,’’ she said.
Another horse event — the 2017 National Cutting Horse Victorian Futurity — will begin tomorrowat Tatura Park and finish on Sunday.
