Play equipment upgraded

The Tatura Guardian - - News - By Tara Whitsed

After a steady two years of planning, the Tatura Children’s Centre now boasts an upgraded nursery play area, complete with their own sandpit, and toddler outdoor environment.

Tatura Children’s Centre director Sheree Carver said the TCC committee had reflected on the area during the past two years.

‘‘After a consultation we attained a community grant to support the upgrade and have now just completed the project,’’ Ms Carver said.

‘‘The nursery is now a larger play and learning area, which includes their own sandpit for the children to enjoy.’’

Ms Carver said upgrades to the toddler area focused on sustainability and exploration.

‘‘The toddler yard now includes a sustainability area of vegetable gardens, a deck for exploration, a bike path, which was a request of the children’s and a fire pit collaboration area,’’ she said.

Ms Carver said it was exciting to be involved in the project, which supported the children’s learning.

‘‘The children will now have access tomore learning opportunities and it is an honour to be involved in a centre that only ever has the children’s interests at heart,’’ she said.

‘‘The committee of management works tirelessly to ensure we have excellent facilities for our families and all of the staff are very proud to be involved in a centre that focuses solely on the needs of the children.’’

Ms Carver said the centre was now taking enrolments for 2018 for all of its rooms.

‘‘We have vacancies and invite families from within our community to come down and visit our service,’’ she said.

The centre’s annual general meeting will be held on Monday, October 30, from 5.30 pm and Ms Carver said this would be a great time to come along.

‘‘This will include the opening of these wonderful new learning environments, so this is another opportunity to come and enjoy our facilities,’’ she said.

Happy: Alexandra Tartaglia, Charlie Donaldson and Nicola Tartaglia enjoying their new sandpit at the Tatura Children's Centre.
