O’Ke­effe to in­spire at break­fast

Women are in­vited to at­tend a so­cial gath­er­ing at the Tatura Ten­nis Club rooms next week where Greater Shepparton City coun­cil­lor Kim O’Ke­effe will be guest speaker.

Event or­gan­iser Robyn Fen­nell said it was a chance for women to come to­gether and so­cialise and hear from Cr O’Ke­effe about her suc­cess­ful ca­reer.

Run­ning her own busi­ness in the ser­vice and train­ing in­dus­try for the past 28 years, Cr O’Ke­effe’s talk is ti­tled ‘ My Jour­ney: Creat­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties, vol­un­teer­ing and suc­cess’.

For the past 16 years, Cr O’Ke­effe has vol­un­teered for The Look Good Feel Bet­ter pro­gram for women with cancer, and has also been a vol­un­teer for the Shine pro­gram and the Make-A-Wish foun­da­tion.

Ms Fen­nell said guests would get the chance to ask Cr O’Ke­effe ques­tions fol­low­ing the talk be­fore 8.30 am, so they can still make it to work on time.

‘‘Other women who don’t need to get to work can hang around un­til about 9 am,’’ Ms Fen­nell said.

Spon­sored by the Rod­ney Coun­try Women’s As­so­ci­a­tion branch, the break­fast costs $10 per per­son.

‘‘We will have tick­ets avail­able at the door, but those who know they are com­ing can book ahead,’’ Ms Fen­nell said.
