Fanning has day on the greens

The sta­ble­ford event spon­sored by Hill Top was played in warm spring weather.

Lyn Fanning played a great game to win A-grade with 38 points and claim two near­est to the pins.

Run­ner-up was Ja­nine Mor­gan with 35 points. Balls down the line went to Jan Coe, Deb Reilly, MandyMcGrath and Bev Roberts all with 34 points.

Near­est to the pins went to Lyn Fanning on the third hole, spon­sored by Gallery Cafe´, and the 9th (Cafe´ A Lofa), Joyce Tavener on the sixth (Tatura Hot Bread) and Lyn Flett on the 14th (One4One Cafe´).

Nine-hole com­pe­ti­tion: Lois Rogers won two balls and Roy­lyn Har­ris one ball.

Free golf lessons: Oc­to­ber is golf and bowls month, with free lessons on Sun­day at Hill Top. Ju­niors reg­is­ter for golf at 10.30 am for an hour les­son.

Women should reg­is­ter at 12.45 pm, with golf played from 1 pm to 2 pm.

Free bowls lessons will also be of­fered on the day.

Ju­niors reg­is­ter at 11.45 am and bowl un­til 12.45 pm.

Ev­ery­one else reg­is­ter at 2 pm and bowl from 2.15 pm to 3.15 pm.

Pen­nant golf be­gins with a home game against Mooroopna. Good luck to all the girls play­ing.

Coun­try Week: Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Goul­burn Mur­ray As­so­ci­a­tion’s women’s team, which won di­vi­sion one at Coun­try Week against plenty of tal­ented op­po­si­tion. The win was ex­tra spe­cial, as the women had not won at this level since 1980.

Terri Wange­man was one of the cad­dies who un­doubt­edly gave plenty of sup­port to the play­ers.

Con­grat­u­la­tions also to the Goul­burn Mur­ray men’s team, which won di­vi­sion two un­beaten.

Hill Top Golf mem­bers were sad­dened to hear of the pass­ing of our found­ing mem­ber Beryl Gray. Our con­do­lences are ex­tended to her fam­ily and friends.
