Tatura Generations Op Shop has donated $2000 towards the purchase of new state-of-the-art beds for Tatura Hospital.

Generations Op Shop manager Neville Crow presented a cheque to the hospital’s director of nursing Jayne French who said it would go towards the hospital’s goal of replacing its old beds.

‘‘The new beds are great at preventing falls and terrific for staff because the bed has a hydraulic lift system allowing it to be moved and down and can be locked in position,’’ Ms French said.

The hospital has been fundraising since the start of the year and hopes to eventually replace all 23 beds; so far eight new beds have found a home at the facility.

The new beds are valued at $4000 each.

Mr Crow said the Op Shop had been doing well in its new home on Hogan St, and more donations were planned before the end of the year.
