The first of the month saw the women play a 4BBB stable­ford event which in­cluded the qual­i­fy­ing round of the Edna Star­ritt event, and spon­sored by Tatura Ho­tel.

Jan Coe and Gail Woot­ton won the day with 42 points on a three-way count­back. Sh­eryl Cur­ran and Robyn Downs were run­ners-up with 42 points.

Lois Rogers and Roy­lyn Har­ris won a ball with 42 points. Near­est to the pins: 3rd Gallery Cafe´: Kerry Gross, 6th Tatura Hot Bread: Liz Mulc­ahy, 9th Cafe´ Alofa: Lyn Fan­ning, 14th One4One Cafe´: Roy­lyn Har­ris.

Nine hole com­pe­ti­tion: Joyce Tavener has scored an­other win with 14 points, just edg­ing out He­len Wil­liams with 11 points.

Edna Star­ritt 4BBB event: The qual­i­fy­ing pairs were re­duced from eight pairs to six this year as there were many golfers still up north en­joy­ing the warmer climes. The first round of match play is to be played on or be­fore Au­gust 20.

The top qual­i­fy­ing pair of Sh­eryl Cur­ran and Robyn Downs have the bye in the first round, as does Lois Rogers and Roy­lyn Har­ris.

The first round will see Heather Long and Josie De Ieso play Sue Turn­bull and Deb Reilly, while Liz Mulc­ahy and Kerry Gross will play Terri Wange­man and Colleen Johns.

Wed­nes­day’s event: Stroke, monthly medal: spon­sored by Drum­mond Golf, Hill Top Brooch, putting and the qual­i­fy­ing round of the Glad Rob­bins event.
