Australian Lamington KitKat

What is it?

Four fingers of delicious weirdness. It’s a KitKat that’s been jazzed up with toasted coconut and jammy strawberry pieces, so it tastes like a slice of nan’s lamington.

I know, right? For decades the KitKat has been the humblest of confectionery products – wafer, chocolate, that’s it – and

What the heck?

now it’s being reimagined in bonkers “special edition” flavours by Melbourne’s KitKat Chocolatory.

What other flavours are there?

Strawberry Eton Mess (white chocolate, meringue, strawberry, pictured), Mixed Berry & Mascarpone Cheesecake, and the disturbingly green Japanese Maccha & Kikusui Leaves, to name just three. (Alas, there’s no Wasabi KitKat, which are all the rage in Japan. True, that.)

Canny marketing. What better way to breathe new life into an old brand than a bit of Willy Wonka wankery?

What’s it all about?
