How should one wear word / letter rings?

I have a Serge Thoraval ring with a line from a French poem from Cyrano de Bergerac, which I like to read when I should be doing something else, such as writing things about wordy rings. How very meta. But with my initialled signet ring from Heart of Bone x Harrolds (harrolds.com.au), do I wear the letter G facing me, or away from me? Do I need reminding of my initial, or am I putting it out there for the rest of the world? My colleague and I decided that such a ring should be worn with the letters facing towards you, right way up – that’s the way it’s read by someone else when your hand is held up to your face. Problem solved.
