Horses for causes

The Weekend Australian - Magazine - - INBOX -

What a shame if Melbourne loses its horse-drawn carriages (“When the clip-clop stops”, May 12-13). Kate Legge’s story about this wonderful example of retaining our history was, in parts, distressing because once again we have professional activists trying to stop something that is attractive, harmless and providing work and income. Let Alex MacDonald get on with the business of caring for his horses and adding to the fabric of Melbourne by providing a link with our heritage and a world-class attraction. It is the ignorant, zealotlike, bullying activists who should be banned.
