Fences vs ferals

The Weekend Australian - Magazine - - INBOX -

“Line in the sand” (May 26-27) was an important article about protecting our endangered animals. It should be illegal to own an unsterilised cat in Australia, given the untold damage they do to our native animals and birds. Also, the army should be encouraged to hone its infantry skills by cleaning up all the feral animals creating havoc and devastation across much of our forests and reserves. Feral-proof fencing is a great start, but much more is needed to save our magnificent native animals such as the short-nosed rat kangaroo and bilby. Paul Asbury Sunshine Beach, Qld
