In God’s name

The Weekend Australian - Magazine - - Front Page -

As an Anglican, I believe taking the name of God in vain is ill considered and condemned by the Bible (“Signs of the times”, Sep 1-2). Father Rod Bower may be assured that the biblical writers, whom he writes off as ignorant bronze or iron-age people, were fully conversant with the full spectrum of humanity’s frailties. Gay and lesbian relationships were common practice long before Christ. It would appear that the reverend is more focused on his “likes” than theology and historical knowledge.
