An in­ter­est­ing ar­ti­cle on Pro­fes­sor Robert Plomin and the fu­ture uses (abuses?) of ge­netic test­ing (“The for­tune teller”, Oct 13-14). It seems to me one cru­cial as­pect is miss­ing. While there is a heavy em­pha­sis on DNA and en­vi­ron­ment – the clas­sic “na­ture vs nur­ture” de­bate – there is no men­tion of the meta­phys­i­cal; the soul and spirit of a per­son and the roles they play in life.
