WEEKEND SPORT

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Tv - Peter Kogoy

THE V8 Supercars continue to set a cracking pace in the ratings for the Seven Network, and this weekend’s round from Eastern Creek in Sydney’s west should be no different as the Holden and Ford monsters go head- tohead live into Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth from 4pm today. The action continues tomorrow from 1pm into all markets except Adelaide, on delay from 10.30pm. While I find rugby union appealing, methinks the results in today’s three live Tests on Fox Sports 2 are shaping up as one- sided affairs, starting with the All Blacks against France from 5.30pm, to be followed by the Wallabies in Perth against Fiji, before the Springboks unleash their full fury on Samoa at 11pm. ( All pay TV times are half an hour earlier in Adelaide and two hours earlier in Perth.) The pick of the live AFL games on Fox this weekend is the Sydney Swans visit to the MCG to tackle Hawthorn, on FS1 from 2pm, or catch the action on free to air on Ten today, followed by the Adelaide Crows looking to redeem themselves against Geelong, also on FS1, from 1pm tomorrow. The pick of this weekend’s round of NRL is tonight’s clash between the Roosters and Cowboys live from Aussie Stadium in Sydney from 7.30pm on FS3. With young Casey Stoner setting a cracking pace in the MotoGP, the action tomorrow night live from 7pm on FS2 comes from Catalunya in Spain.
