The Cook and the Chef, 6.30pm, ABC Winter school holidays are a treat for youngsters, but sometimes a trial for parents. Maggie and Simon show you how to turn a kitchen into a treasure trove. Thank God You’re Here, 7.30pm, Ten Get ready for more unscripted comic improv chaos as the folk behind TGYH bring you a brand new series. Host Shane Bourne and judge Tom Gleisner ( The Panel ) return, promising to shunt a grab bag of old and new faces through the blue door. The Force: Behind the Line, 7.30pm, Seven Go along with Perth police as they chase down sex attackers and speeding utes carrying heartbroken cowboys, and marvel as they fish a submerged car out of a country dam. Simon Reeve, pictured, and the camera crew don’t seem to make the police or the crims self- conscious. Who has time for vanity in the midst of serious crime? Extreme Makeover, 10.30pm, Nine A tomboy kinda gal gets a more womanly face and much bigger breasts, while a pizza delivery boy with the nicknames pepperoni face and shark mouth gets a smooth new look. Now he looks like a dugong. My favourite thing about this show is not the hypedup emotion of the final revelations but the host team bursting into people’s homes in firemen’s gear and carrying them out of the house and all the way into their new, surgically enhanced lives.
