WEEKEND SPORT

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Tv - Peter Kogoy

THREE weeks of staying up late watching the Tour de France cycle classic and listening to Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen’s marvellous call on SBS has been worth every minute. Tonight’s stage, a 55.5km time trial from Cognac to Angouleme, will be no different as it could decide who gets to wear the yellow race leader’s jersey on to the Champs- Elysees tomorrow. Coverage tonight from 10pm, while tomorrow’s final sprint into Paris starts from 10.30pm. It’s make or break time for the Sydney Swans. If they want to reach the AFL finals, a win against Richmond is a must, live on Fox Sports 1 and Ten from 7pm. Tomorrow’s pick of the action is the BombersCrows from Telstra on Seven, live into Sydney and Brisbane from 2pm, 30 minutes earlier in Adelaide and on a one- hour delay into Melbourne. But Hawthorn and Kangaroos fans may disagree with me. Their match can be seen on FS1 from 1pm tomorrow. That will be followed by Port Adelaide and the Melbourne Demons from 4.30pm into South Australia only. In the NRL, it is a mustwin situation for Cronulla against the Broncos in Brisbane if they are to figure in the play- offs, live on FS3 from 1.30pm tomorrow. Baseball fans are in for a treat tomorrow, with the Los Angeles Angels up against the Detroit Tigers live on FS2 from 5.30am.
