QUICK BITES

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Tv -

Is Your House Killing You? 7.30pm, SBS Like many Australian familes, the Moores heat their home with an un- flued gas heater in the winter. Parents Trenna and Steve play unsuspectingly with their three young boys in a large family room. But when one son is diagnosed with asthma, they discover that health hazards lurk where you least expect them. Getting on the Property Ladder, 8.30pm, LifeStyle Nine out of 10 British towns are now unaffordable for first home buyers. Quelle surprise. I was there recently and could barely afford fish and chips. Though there are universal truths here, like buying together makes it easier ( well, duh), this remains a very Brit- centric investigation into house affordability. If you’ve always fancied a sea change to a barn on the Welsh border, this program will have you thinking again. Whacko Wednesday, 8.30pm, Showtime Greats The Rocky Horror Picture Show starts this Wednesday’s Whacko night with a bang. Susan Sarandon, what were you thinking? Tim Curry is delightfully decadent as a vaguely Scottish Dr Frank- N- Furter, if there’s anyone left alive who hasn’t already seen it. Followed at 10.15pm by Cheech and Chong’s Up in Smoke. How perfect is that? The Librarians, 9.30pm, ABC An erotic dream about the premier ( not NSW’s Morris Iemma) gets things off to a good start for head librarian Frances O’Brien ( Robyn Butler, pictured). Six Feet Under - style fantasy flash- forwards spice things up. Wised up Kath & Kim bitchiness meets the contrived awkwardness of The Office in an orgy of whinge and cringe.
