Visual art: The Sidney Nolan retrospective is a missed opportunity: it could have toured his crowning achievement, the 1946- 47 Ned Kelly paintings, writes Sebastian Smee. Nolan diluted the mystery of his art through repetition and blowsy execution but, carefully filtered, his body of work is as hallucinatory and voracious as a bushfire. Art Gallery of NSW, until February 3.
