Vis­ual art: A farmer and wa­ter­colourist from Queens­land’s Dar­ling Downs, Ken­neth Macqueen was a ‘‘ painter with mud on his boots’’, writes Rose­mary Sorensen. Cu­ra­tor Sa­man­tha Lit­t­ley has as­sem­bled 130 wa­ter­colours, note­books and pho­to­graphs by the artist, who un­der­stood that yearn­ing for beauty and or­der could be a pos­i­tive force.
