WEEKEND SPORT

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Tv -

NOT too many sleeps now before the white bearded chap in the red suit makes his yearly visit. Pity he couldn’t have had a word or two with the sports programmers who work for the free- to- air mob. What did we do for live sport at this time of the year before cable television? Speaking of Yuletide festivities, Sydney FC soccer coach John Kosmina will be looking for an early Christmas present tonight with a win against the Central Coast Mariners after Perth Glory ended his six- match unbeaten run in the A- League at home last week. Kick- off is set for 7pm on Fox Sports 1. The match is a precursor to what should be an absolute cracker from the English Premier League tonight when Spurs go gunning for Arsenal in an all north London derby, with kick- off slated for 11.30pm on FS1. My pick for tomorrow’s EPL action on FS2 is the Manchester United- Everton fixture from 11pm. Those who have added Setanta Sports to their viewing schedule should tune in to the Scottish Premier League match of the round between Celtic and Hibernian from 2am. Then, after a quick nap, catch a live game of rugby union from England, with Bristol at home to London Wasps. Kick- off is set for 10.15am.
