Celtic Woman: A New Journey, 1.30pm, SBS Begorrah! Here’s a concert recorded at Slane Castle in County Meade, Ireland, in which the original five Celtic women ( Chloe Agnew, Orla Fallon, Lynn Hilary, Lisa Kelly and Alex Sharpe) are joined by a sixth. She is the lovely and talented Hayley Westenra, who incidentally has a gorgeous turn on Mike Oldfield’s forthcoming classical CD Music of the Spheres . The evening, featuring Celtic classics, contemporary hits and original material, is hosted by the genial Lord Henry Mountcharles. Being Claudia Cardinale, 7.30pm, SBS One day, young Claudia Cardinale, pictured, was discovered by an Italian film executive, who entered her in a ‘‘ most beautiful girl in Tunisia contest’’, which she won. Her prize was a week at the Venice film festival and a screen test. Naturally, things went swimmingly and Cardinale became the natural successor to Gina Lollobrigida and Sophia Loren. A body of work followed that surpassed her body beautiful. She worked with most of the great Italian directors, including Luchino Visconti, Federico Fellini and Mario Monicelli. NYPD 24/ 7, 10.55pm, Nine What is it with Nine and fly- on- the- wall police reality shows? As if the execrable Police 10/ 7 from New Zealand weren’t enough, now you can be a fly on the wall in a Noo Yawk police car and see how differently they handle things there. Mind you, there’s probably going to be a tad more drama in the Big Apple than in the Bay of Plenty.
