The Best of Live at the Basement: Morris, Cotton, Keays, 10am, ABC1

Psst. Wanna feel like it’s 1969 again without being part of one of those ginormous Countdown nostalgia spectaculars? Then tune in this morning to see Russell, Darryl and Jim do their nostalgia thing, practically in private.

The Club, 8.30pm, ABC2

David Williamson’s screenplay from his play of the same name for this 1980 film about an AFL club holds up really well. Not so the shortest footy shorts you’ve seen, which look practically obscene. It’s wonderful to see a fit young John Howard as Geoff Hayward, ‘‘ the best player to come out of Tasmania since Darrel Baldock’’, and Graham Kennedy in one his strongest straight roles as club president Ted Parker. Reviewed times and the movie schedules above are shown in AEDT. Times in other states are provided in the guide pages opposite.
