AC­TION aplenty in the golf, ten­nis and net­ball are­nas this week­end as th­ese sports try to lure footy fans from their reg­u­lar television fare. From 6am to­day on Fox Sports 1, Aus­tralia’s Adam Scott tries to de­fend his Shell Hous­ton Open ti­tle on the USPGA Tour, as ex­cite­ment builds to­wards next week­end’s US Masters. On FS1 from 11pm, the last ma­jor tour­na­ment on the US hard court ten­nis cal­en­dar — the Sony Eric­s­son in Mi­ami for men and women — has reached its fi­nal rounds. The women are fol­lowed by the men. Net­ball’s break­through trans- Tas­man com­pe­ti­tion — the ANZ Cham­pi­onship in­volv­ing 10 teams from the two top na­tions in the world — be­gins this week­end. FS2 fea­tures the NZ Cen­tral Pulse against the Melbourne Vix­ens from 12pm to­day. Two games will be shown live on FS3 to­mor­row: the Queens­land Fire­birds v WA’s West Coast Fever at 1pm, fol­lowed by the NZ Mys­tics v NZ Can­ter­bury at 3.30pm. Mixed in with all that is round eight of the Su­per 14, round four of the NRL and round three of the AFL, which throws up some bumper matches. Un­beaten Hawthorn face the Kan­ga­roos at the Tel­stra Dome on Ten at 2pm to­day. This pre­cedes the WA derby: West Coast v Fre­man­tle on FS1 at 5pm. Stay on FS1 as Bris­bane host Syd­ney at the Gabba tonight, live from 8pm. Round ball fans don’t lose out as Eng­land Pre­mier League soc­cer heavy­weights Arse­nal and Liver­pool clash from 10.30pm tonight on FS3.
