The Einstein Factor, 6.30pm, ABC1

This is one of those programs I rather fail to see the point of. Perhaps it’s just that I’m conditioned to seeing winners win things. I guess it’s terrific for people to demonstrate and be quizzed on their special subject ( mine would clearly be the bleedin’ obvious) but is that specialised knowledge really so interesting to viewers? And don’t get me started on the relevance of the smug brains trust ( shudder).

Elephants of Samburu, 6.30pm, Animal Planet

Elephants are adorable. But away from the zoos where we mostly see them, they are even more majestic, social and impressive. Join your host Saba Douglas- Hamilton as she visits elephants in their natural state in Samburu, Kenya, her home state. She catches up with a tiny orphaned elephant who will surely die if not rescued, and a horny bull that weighs more than 6000kg and is pumped full of hormones and aggression. Rather her than me.
