If you watched last night’s air crash ex­trav­a­ganza, the an­swer to that may seem ob­vi­ous. But in­stead of ham­mer­ing away at our per­sonal fear of fly­ing, this pro­gram in­ves­ti­gates the en­vi­ron­men­tal ef­fect of some of the 2.5 mil­lion flights that take place each year. Ac­cord­ing to this doc­u­men­tary, one rel­a­tively short flight from Lon­don to Malaga in Spain puts 27 tonnes of CO into the at­mos­phere, which stays there for more than 100 years.
