From an early age we all form an im­pres­sion of bears, per­haps be­cause most of us spend time in our early child­hood with teddy bears. Griz­zly bears once roamed across the western half of the North Amer­i­can con­ti­nent from above the Arc­tic Circle to cen­tral Mex­ico. Now they are found in just a few pock­ets of iso­lated wilder­ness. Alaska is one of the last places left where griz­zlies thrive. Here you will find black bears, brown bears and polar bears.
