Hugh’s Three Hungry Boys

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Television -

Thursday, 9.30pm, LifeStyle The improbably named Hugh FearnleyWhittingstall, best known as host of the seemingly endless River Cottage programs ( Escape to River Cottage, Return to River Cottage, River Cottage Forever ) passes the baton to the next generation in this amusing adventure series. He challenges three young mates to travel from River Cottage to Land’s End in five weeks eating only food caught and picked on the land. This means they must travel through those well-worn foodie habitats in England’s south, Devon and Cornwall. With zero money — no cheeky ATM cards allowed — the mates must complete their mission in a three-tonne, 1980s electric milk float with a top speed of 27km/h. Not only must they keep body and soul together, they also have to find renewable fuel for their ridiculous vehicle. Fortunately for us, Trevor Thom and Tim are determined to have a good time and so they make good company as well as many fine gags at the expense of the old man.
