Monday to Friday, 7.30pm, LifeStyle Food Last week I was banging on about how anxiety-inducing competitive cooking programs can be, particularly when they are about amateurs with aspirations. Thankfully this series is about those at the top. According to the narrator it’s about putting the best, the award-winning and the Michelin-starred, through their paces. Whew. But don’t get too comfortable. The challenge is for the chefs to push themselves to the absolute limit by creating awe-inspiring dishes that reach new culinary heights. So let’s hope they don’t look down because it’s a long way to fall. The point, by the way, is that the winner gets to cook a spectacular feast for Britain’s Olympic heroes. How five minutes ago. world. ‘‘ I don’t watch the news, I don’t get it,’’ offers her switched-on mate, Frankie. I don’t think I really get Essex either, but I watch it. Line of duty and all that. You, dear reader, have choices. Exercise at will.
