LES Mur­ray is widely con­sid­ered Aus­tralia’s great­est poet, so if you like to re­lax by the pool and dip into a bit of verse (I cer­tainly do), what bet­ter place to start than The Best 100 Po­ems of Les Mur­ray, se­lected by the Bard of Bun­yah him­self. Some have said Aus­tralia is ex­pe­ri­enc­ing a golden age of po­etry, with an ex­cit­ing group of younger po­ets, many of them women, mak­ing their mark.
