Wild Vets

Wednesday, 7pm, Seven Seven must have a great deal of faith in this program from New Zealand about veterinarians who treat that country’s zoo animals, because from tonight it’s running nightly at 7pm. In zoos and wildlife parks across New Zealand, vets offer ultrasounds to rhinos, repair the eyes of blinded exotic creatures, take chimps for brain scans and operate on penguins. Tonight, dentistry on a very cranky lion named Max, who has been dribbling since infected teeth were removed three months before. Are those lemurs in love, or is it war? Also, vet Lisa steps up to the task of taking blood from a giraffe. All very sweet but with only a tenth of the charisma of Ten’s

Bondi Vet. Really, Seven? Five nights a week in prime time? Who would have guessed this was the off-ratings season?
