Mon­day, 7.30pm, SoHo A brand-new sea­son of the Amer­i­can ver­sion of Shame­less kicks off tonight. I can’t say I’ve been paying close at­ten­tion, but it’s still fun to see how Amer­i­can cul­ture in­ter­prets the orig­i­nal English fam­ily of wel­fare-de­pen­dent rat­bags known as the Gal­laghers. Wil­liam H. Macy re­mains sen­sa­tional as nar­cis­sis­tic, al­co­holic pa­tri­arch Frank. Though sham­bolic, he is eas­ier on the eye and on the nerves than his English coun­ter­part, David Threlfall. There is a touch­ing moment at the very be­gin­ning
