Mon­day, 7.30pm, Bio Open­ing up a 19th sea­son, the pompous but en­dur­ing James Lip­ton meets Liam Nee­son and ham­mers through vir­tu­ally the same job in­ter­view ques­tions he asks ev­ery­one in this aca­demic take on an ac­tor’s life. Nee­son, the star of count­less films in­clud­ing Schindler’s List, Taken, Star Wars and Bat­man Be­gins, looks vaguely per­plexed, first as he is wor­shipped with a stand­ing ova­tion by an au­di­ence of trainee ac­tors just for turn­ing up, and then at Lip­ton’s inane in­ter­view tech­nique. Lip­ton: ‘‘ What was your fa­ther’s name?’’ Nee­son: ‘‘ Bernard, Bar­ney.’’ Lip­ton: ‘‘ What was your mother’s name?’’ Nee­son: ‘‘ Kitty.’’ And so on.
