Tues­day, 9.30pm, ABC2 Young of­fend­ers in the US ju­ve­nile sys­tem do it tough. Ac­cord­ing to this pro­gram, an aver­age of 2.3 mil­lion ju­ve­niles are ar­rested each year. Of th­ese, one-third are girls, and most re­port a his­tory of phys­i­cal or sex­ual abuse. When we first meet her in 2004, Cyn­toia Brown is 16. She is be­ing eval­u­ated at a de­ten­tion cen­tre in Nashville by a foren­sic psy­chi­a­trist.
