True Blood

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Television -

Monday, 8.30pm, Showcase In season five last year, the plot of Alan Ball’s True Blood developed more threads than angel hair pasta. It was overwhelming. There was so much going on and anyone who wasn’t actually someone else was pretending to be someone else. However, in this season six debut, the maddening pace has slowed. Sure, vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) is someone different. He’s still Bill but has incorporated the powers of an ancient figure from the vampire bible and can get staked and shrug it off like that liquid metal dude in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. As always there is plenty of room for the massively built Alcide (Joe Manganiello) to get his kit off while turning into a wolf; and Sookie (Anna Paquin) is now so good with her fairy light she can turn it on and off like a torch.
