Thursday, 9.30pm, Studio Another chance to checkout the work of art photographer David LaChapelle, who loves the idea of art that is bigger than life and more beautiful than the dream. ‘‘ If you want reality, you know, take the bus,’’ he says as his dream-like visions of beautiful naked women and male subjects such as Mark Wahlberg and Marilyn Manson fill the screen. But LaChapelle’s photos are not just beautiful, they always tell a story. An assistant explains the team works the way filmmakers do, with set designers and people who acquire all the objects and fashions for the often lavish shoots. We find out about the influence of Andy Warhol, with whom LaChapelle once worked, and speak to arty types about the photographer’s genius. LaChapelle seems refreshingly down-to-earth.
