Up All Night

The Weekend Australian - Review - - Television -

Monday, 11pm, Seven A new season of the comedy about television producer Reagan (Christina Applegate) who returned to work following the birth of her first child in season one. Reagan works on her best friend Ava’s talk show and is supported by stay-at-home husband Chris (Will Arnett) as they try to cope with life with baby Amy, now a toilet-training toddler. Maya Rudolph is terrific as the egomaniacal talk-show host Ava, and in the first of double episodes here she has a hell of a surprise for Reagan and Chris, who are busy at home knocking down a bathroom — her show has been cancelled. So where will this leave the half of Up All Night that takes place on the set and behind the scenes of The Ava Show? Could the family now lose its only income? Funnier than it sounds.
