Thurs­day, 8.30pm, UKTV Fol­low­ing tri­umphs in The Slap and In Treat­ment, lo­cal lass Melissa Ge­orge played the lead in this spy se­ries, shown on SBS One last year. We first meet her char­ac­ter, Bri­tish spy Sam Hunter, on a mis­sion in Tang­ier where she bumps off en­e­mies with the kind of cold dis­re­gard that gen­er­ally qual­i­fies men as James Bond-like and women as psy­cho­pathic ice maid­ens. Suf­fice to say Sam is be­trayed and shot in the stom­ach, where­upon the ac­tion switches to a re­mote Scot­tish vil­lage where she re­ha­bil­i­tates her­self by run­ning up hills and hold­ing her breath un­der­wa­ter. One year later she is back on the job at the Lon­don spy agency Byzan­tium.
